Love Letter from Jesus

A Love Letter from Jesus

My beloved child,

I see you. I know the pain, the disappointments, and the weight you’ve carried for so long. I know the times you’ve felt abandoned, judged, or betrayed. But I want you to hear this: you have never been abandoned by Me.

When you were weak, I was there. When you cried in secret, I held every tear. When you stumbled, I did not condemn you - I reached out to lift you up again.

Your addictions do not define you. The cravings, the mistakes, the shame - they are not who you are. You are My beloved. You are chosen. You are worth more than you can imagine.

There are steps you can take, not to try harder, but to trust Me more:

1. Keep the Serenity Prayer close. When you feel overwhelmed, ask Me to give you the wisdom to know what can change, and what you need to leave in My hands.

2. Rest in your true identity. You are not your failures. You are Mine. You are loved, forgiven, and never alone.

3. Draw from My strength. When you whisper, “Jesus, help me,” I am already with you, carrying what you cannot.

4. Reclaim your life step by step. Each small victory - a meal, a smile, a moment of peace - is My gift to remind you that life is being restored.

You no longer need to give your love and life away to those who cannot see your worth. I see it. I see every sacrifice, every tear, every battle. And I promise you this: if you seek Me first, everything else will fall into place.

You are not alone. You never have been. Let Me write a new chapter for your life — one filled with healing, freedom, and hope beyond what you can imagine.

With everlasting love,

Jesus

The Truth of Who You Are in Christ

My Beloved Child,

I see your struggle, your tears, and your battles. I know how often you feel weak, weary, and unworthy. But hear My voice: You are Mine. You are loved. You are never alone.

I have not come to condemn you, but to free you. The cravings and the pain may feel stronger than you, but I am stronger still. Every time you call My name, I am there. Every small step forward is a victory in My eyes.

Let My words be your anchor. Speak them aloud when fear, shame, or temptation rise. They are not just promises; they are the truth of who you are in Me.

Prayer is Just Talking to God

Prayer of Surrender and Hope

From me to You,

Lord Heavenly Father,

I come to You just as I am - weary, broken, and often afraid. I confess that I cannot carry this burden alone. I have tried to numb my pain in so many ways, but today I choose to give it to You.

Jesus, I believe You love me. I believe You died for me, and I believe You are strong when I am weak. Be my strength today. Remind me that I am Your beloved child, forgiven and never forgotten.

Holy Spirit, fill me with Your peace. Heal my heart, renew my mind, and restore my joy. Teach me how to walk by faith and not by sight. Show me how to love myself as You love me, so I can love others in a healthy way.

Lord, I release control. I let go of what I cannot change and place it in Your hands. Step by step, help me reclaim my life in You.

Thank You for never leaving me. Thank You for giving me hope and a future. I trust You with my life, my healing, and my tomorrow.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of this new day. Your Word says Your mercies are new every morning, and today I choose to receive them. Yesterday’s failures are gone. Today I begin again with You.

Jesus, I invite You into every part of this day - my thoughts, my feelings, my cravings, my decisions. Be my strength when I am weak, my peace when I am anxious, and my joy when I am weary.

Holy Spirit, guide me step by step. Remind me of who I am in Christ: loved, forgiven, and free. Show me that even the smallest victories matter and help me to see them as signs of new life being restored.

Lord, help me to walk by faith today, not by sight. Keep me close to You. Teach me to love myself as You love me and give me the courage to face this day with hope.

Who I Am in Christ – Declarations of Identity

Say these out loud — especially when shame or temptation rises: • I am God’s beloved child. (1 John 3:1)
• I am forgiven and free from condemnation. (Romans 8:1)
• I am loved with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3)
• I am never alone — Jesus is always with me. (Matthew 28:20) • I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
• I am free, because Jesus has set me free. (John 8:36)
• I am being renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16)
• I have hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Final Word of Encouragement Recovery is not about trying harder — it’s about trusting more. Jesus has already carried your past and broken every chain. He calls you His beloved, and nothing can separate you from His love. This is the beginning of your freedom story.

From Struggle to Transformation

When the Apostle Paul described the human struggle with sin in Romans 7, he was describing addiction in all its forms - whether alcohol, drugs, food, gossip, or anything else we turn to for comfort.

“I don’t understand myself at all, for I really want to do what is right, but I can’t. I do what I don’t want to—what I hate… It is sin inside me that is stronger than I am that makes me do these evil things.” (Romans 7:15–17, TLB)

Every addict knows this cycle: I want to stop. I try to stop. I fail. I hate myself for failing. And then I go back again. Paul calls this a “terrible predicament” - being enslaved to a nature that pulls us down again and again.

But he doesn’t leave us there. He cries out:
“Who will free me from my slavery to this deadly lower nature?
Thank God! It has been done by Jesus Christ our Lord.
He has set me free.” (Romans 7:24–25, TLB)

THIS IS WHERE THE BUTTERFLY COMES IN ...

The Butterfly’s Cocoon and Our Detox

Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar dissolves into a liquid mass - its old body breaks down completely. From what looks like death, a new creation begins to form. And yet, the process is not finished until the butterfly struggles through the tiny opening of the cocoon. The pressure forces fluid into its wings, giving them strength for flight.

When someone “helps” the butterfly by cutting the cocoon open, it comes out weak, crippled, and unable to fly. The very struggle it needed was taken away.

This is a picture of Detox with Jesus:
The Cocoon our addictions, pain, shame, and old nature in Adam.
The Struggle the painful process of letting go, of saying no to the old and yes to Jesus.
The Transformation our old nature dies, and we are made new in Christ.
The Wings the Holy Spirit filling us with power to live free.

Paul puts it this way in Romans 8:

“So there is now no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit—and this power is mine through Christ Jesus—has freed me from the vicious circle of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1–2, TLB)

New Life in Christ

Like the butterfly, we are not called to stay crawling in our old life. In Jesus:
• The old has dissolved — “the old life has gone.”
• The new has come — “if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
• The Spirit gives us wings — “if the Spirit of God… lives in you, He will give life” (Romans 8:11).

This is not about trying harder. It is about surrender. We can’t grit our teeth and grow wings. But as we allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds and hearts, we learn to walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh.

The Love That Fills Us Ephesians 3 shows us what comes next:

“By constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you… Then you will be empowered to discover… how deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!” (Ephesians 3:17–19, TPT)

This is the true detox: being cleansed of lies, shame, cravings, and fear — and being filled with the love of God until His Spirit overflows in us.

When we Detox with Jesus, we stop living as slaves to our old nature. We become sons and daughters of God, free to fly in His strength, rooted in His love, and filled with His Spirit.

You Don’t Have to Stop Drinking

This story is true. Personal details have been changed to protect privacy, but the healing is real.

He was barely twenty, but his eyes carried the weight of someone much older. He had been drinking every day since he was ten. His health was fading, school was slipping away, and life felt hopeless. Yet in one quiet moment of honesty, he allowed me to pray for him.

As I prayed, I sensed the Lord speak something unexpected:

“You don’t have to stop drinking. Just let Me love you. My love will change you from the inside out. One day you will wake up, and realize that you don’t want to drink.”

So instead of urging him to stop drinking, attend church, or “do better,” I simply loved him and made space for belonging in our shared student house. Little by little, something began to shift - not through pressure, but through community, laughter, shared meals, and learning how to care for one another.

There were tears too, honest conversations, and prayers on the hardest days. There were moments of frustration and confusion. But there was also hope. Real, steady, gentle hope.

About one year later, he came to my door, surrounded by his friends, with amazement in his voice: “I woke up this morning… and I didn’t want to drink.”

It wasn’t forced. It wasn’t willpower.

It was freedom born out of love.

He didn’t become someone who never touched alcohol again - but he was no longer chained to it. Today, he works in his field and is building a successful business, living with peace and purpose.

God is faithful.
His love accomplishes what pressure, striving, and self-effort cannot.

Takeaway Line:
Healing begins when we stop trying to fix ourselves and learn to receive the love of God - together, in community.

God meets us where we are, and His love changes everything.
We  invite you to  watch,  listen, and let  hope  rise in  your  heart. If  He  did  it  for  them, He  can do it for you - or for the one you love.
