An Invitation to Walk and Pray Together
Over the years, I have learned something very simple and very life changing. Prayer is not meant to be a last resort. It is meant to be our first response.
Not because life is always in crisis… but because we were created to walk with God.
Genesis tells us that Adam and Eve heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Before shame. Before hiding. Before striving. Just walking.
Many of us were taught how to serve God. Few of us were taught how to simply walk with Him. Some of us only pray when we are desperate. Some of us stopped praying because we felt disappointed. Some of us have been fighting private battles ~ anxiety, addiction, fear, shame ~ and don’t know where to begin again.

This will be a quiet, safe place to:
- Learn to walk and talk with the One who loves you
- Grow in confident, effective prayer
- Stand in spiritual authority with humility and peace
- Pray for ourselves, our families, and our communities
This is not about hype. It is not about debate. It is not about performance.
It is about returning to our first love.

Let Prayer Be Our First Response
When we return to walking with God, prayer becomes more than comfort, it becomes strength. We begin to understand that we are not fighting alone. God invites us not only to rest in His love, but to stand in His power. And throughout Scripture, we see that when God’s people faced battle, victory did not begin with weapons, it began with lifted hands.
When Moses faced battle in Exodus 17, the people of Israel asked, “Is God here with us, or not?” Moses stood on the hill with the staff of God raised high so the people would know that God was with them. But as the day went on, his arms grew weary. When his strength failed, others came beside him, one on each side, to hold his hands steady until victory was won.
That is the picture of what must happen today. One person cannot hold the line alone. The battle we face is not fought with weapons but with faith, unity, and prayer.
When I lived in North Bay, I saw what collaboration can look like. For a time, we even had a 24-hour prayer watch. I remember signing up for the 3 a.m. shift and travelling through the quiet streets to a home dedicated solely to prayer.
Though that effort eventually faded, the vision never did. The problem wasn’t a lack of passion ~ it was the logistics of gathering in one place.
Today, we have the means to build something even greater: a virtual house of prayer that never sleeps.
Imagine people in every community signing up to pray for just fifteen minutes, joining hearts and hands in a continuous circle of intercession. Some will choose to pray longer, some shorter, but each one will take their place on the wall.
Together we can build a 24/7 prayer calendar where time zones overlap and voices rise from every corner of the world ~ students, seniors, parents, pastors, artists ~ anyone who hears the call to watch and pray.
Jesus once asked His disciples, “Could you not watch with Me for one hour?” (Matthew 26:40). He was disappointed when he returned to find his disciples fast asleep.
Today He is asking again, not only for an hour, but for hearts willing to stay awake. The disciples did not yet have the power of the Holy Spirit abiding inside of them, but we do so this is not an impossible task anymore.

The church must rise from slumber. This army of God is not confined to pews or denominations. It is global, inclusive, and united by love ~ people of every age, language, and nation joining to pray for healing, deliverance, and awakening.
A house divided against itself cannot stand. But when believers set aside differences and unite in prayer, the walls that separate us begin to fall. It starts here. It starts now. And it starts with YOU.
To sustain this momentum, Detox with Jesus will host an online prayer calendar ~ a simple tool where anyone can choose their prayer time, whether fifteen minutes or more. As names fill each slot, we’ll watch the chain of prayer grow, bringing encouragement to everyone who joins.
Those who pray in their spiritual language are especially welcome to let the Spirit intercede through them. Together, we will keep the fire burning day and night, so that in every hour of every day, someone somewhere is standing in the gap.
